CERBERUS Series · Arm / Leg restraint

SF7

Reach the limb without closing the gap.

National Police Agency Director-General's Award, 2011 (restraint band section)

The SF7 is built around a single premise: distance is protection. A band held on a long shaft is pressed against an arm or a leg, wraps the limb on contact, and stays there. A high-strength rope keeps the band tethered to the operator's side, so freedom of movement is reduced while the officer remains at the full length of the shaft. It is intended for encounters where closing the gap is the risk - an armed or highly agitated subject, a confined corridor, a doorway.

Operating principle

How it is deployed

Hold at standing distance

The standard long shaft sets the working distance. The operator stays outside the subject's effective reach.

Apply to an arm or leg

Pressing the head against the limb brings the band around it. The wrap is immediate and requires no second action.

Maintain the tether

The band remains connected by high-strength rope. Freedom of movement is restricted while distance is preserved.

Move to hand-over

With the limb secured, a second officer can complete restraint, or the subject can be moved under control to a safer position.

Why this design

Three defining characteristics

Works at the full length of the shaft

The operator does not have to enter contact range for the tool to function. This is the core distinction from handheld restraint equipment.

Difficult for the subject to remove

The internal band structure and high-engagement hook-and-loop closure make removal impractical from the inside; the operator can release it easily from the outside for training.

Reusable across training and live deployment

Constructed for repeated application, so training volume does not consume stock.

Key features

What the SF7 does

  • Restraint achieved by pressing the head against a leg or arm - no projectile, no cartridge, no charge.
  • Approximately 1.6 kg, manageable for extended holding.
  • Compact enough to operate in confined spaces such as corridors and doorways.
  • The standard long shaft allows the operator to work while maintaining distance.
  • The band attaches to its holder for rapid set-up; recommended to be stored with the band pre-attached.

Options and accessories

Configuring the SF7

Wall-mounted holder

Fixed-post storage with the band pre-attached, so the unit is ready to lift and deploy.

Replacement band unit

The band is the consumable element of the system. Replacement units are available separately - available on request.

Combined deployment

Used alongside other CERBERUS tools

With SC17

SF7 secures a limb from distance while SC17 takes the torso. Two officers, two ranges, one sequence.

With SB224

SB224 holds working distance and controls the approach; SF7 completes the limb restraint.

Operational contexts

Where the SF7 is deployed

Custody transfer where close contact presents risk
Medical and secure psychiatric response to an agitated patient
Correctional corridors and doorways
Armed-subject containment pending specialist unit arrival

Controlled supply

How the SF7 is sold and managed

Institutional buyers only

The SF7 is supplied exclusively to verified law enforcement, correctional, military, medical and institutional buyers. The manufacturer does not sell to private individuals, and SANOKIKO EUROPE applies the same policy across Europe. Purchaser status, premises and intended use are confirmed before any order is accepted.

Contract-based sale

Every sale is concluded under written terms of supply, following the manufacturer's own practice in Japan. Where the buyer's confirmed status or intended use does not meet the conditions of sale, the order is declined.

Serial-number traceability

Each unit carries an individual serial number recorded by the manufacturer, linking every tool to its original delivery. This supports asset registers and audit requirements in procurement, and is part of the manufacturer's measures against misuse, theft and resale.
