SC17
Restrain at distance. Detach. Withdraw.
The SC17 addresses the central weakness of a conventional U-shaped restraint pole: once contact is made, the operator is committed to holding the pole, and a subject who grips the shaft can drive it back. The SC17 replaces the fixed head with a padded band that closes around the upper body or a leg on contact, and a magnetic coupling that releases the band from the pole in a single movement. Once the band is secured, the pole comes away and the officer can step back to a safe distance while the subject remains restrained.

Present and close distance
The tool is used at pole's length. The operator maintains reach advantage throughout and does not need to enter grappling range.
Apply to the upper body or leg
Pressing the head against the subject brings the band around the torso or limb. The band closes on contact - no trigger, no cartridge, no separate deployment action.
Release the pole
The band separates from the pole at the magnetic coupling. The band stays with the subject; the pole stays with the operator.
Withdraw or hand over
With the subject's freedom of movement reduced, the officer can withdraw to a safe distance, wait for support, or move to a controlled hand-over.

Three defining characteristics
Separation after restraint
The defining feature. Conventional restraint poles tie the operator to the subject for as long as contact is maintained. The SC17 ends that dependency the moment the band is secured.
Difficult for the subject to remove
The internal band structure and high-engagement hook-and-loop closure make self-release impractical for the restrained person, while the operator can release it easily from the outside - which is what makes repeated training use possible.
Reusable across training and live deployment
Built for repeated application. The same unit used in training is the unit carried on duty, so officers train on the equipment they will actually deploy.

Configuring the SC17
Wall-mounted holder
Keeps the assembled unit at height and within reach at a fixed post. Visible placement also functions as a deterrent in reception areas, ward entrances and custody corridors.
SM445 sasumata pole
SC17-compatible U-shaped pole, available as a single-piece lightweight shaft or a two-section extendable shaft that shortens for vehicle carriage.

SC17 secures the torso or a leg; SO7 secures wrists or ankles. Together they cover the transition from initial control to a stable hand-over.

Institutional buyers only
The SC17 is supplied exclusively to verified law enforcement, correctional, military, medical and institutional buyers. Contract-based sale
